Arts Gowanus appreciates the wonderful sponsors that support our community and Gowanus Open Studios. We'll be shining a spotlight on some of these sponsors in the coming weeks.
Favorite part of Gowanus:
We like the grit, energy and new places constantly popping up -- this energy fuels our passion for what we do!
What the Gowanus creative community means to CJ:
Gowanus is a community of makers and idea-generators! Small businesses, artists and inventors of all kinds converge here, and we love being in the crossroads with our girls, programs and projects.
Curious Jane runs summer camps for girls ages 6 to 11, all focused on science, design and engineering. Our business office -- where we dream up big plans and refine curriculum and projects! -- is on 3rd Avenue in Gowanus, but we run our summer programs out of schools in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Girls sign up for a week or more, choosing their favorite hands-on theme -- Kitchen Chemistry, DIY Dollhouse, Ready, Set, Zoom, Spa Science and more -- and design projects that revolve around it. We also publish a maker magazine, ad-free and full of fun things to do and make. This was our 9th summer of running camp; registration for CJ Summer 2018 opens December 1st. Pick up our magazine on newsstands at Barnes & Noble or subscribe now for access to projects any time. https://www.curiousjanecamp.com/magazine/
Drop by 400 3rd Avenue, corner of 6th Street, during GOS to pick up a *free* copy of our magazine -- test drive it with a young girl in your life! A $9.95 value, *while supplies last.*
Curious Jane -- for girls who like to #make things!
