Liam Otero
Liam Otero is an art critic, art historian, curator, and artist based in New York. He isn currently the New York Editor for Whitehot Magazine of Contemporary Art in addition
to one of its art critics. Furthermore, his writing has also been featured in The Brooklyn
Rail, IMPULSE Magazine, and DART Magazine along with his own publication, Art &
Ponder on Substack. Having published over 100 reviews, Otero’s writing knows no
bounds as he covers a spectrum of exhibition types: established Chelsea & Tribeca
galleries; cutting-edge, independent galleries of the Lower East Side and Brooklyn;
alternative spaces and art happenings; college & university thesis shows; temporal pop-
up exhibitions, and so much more.
When not writing or curating, Otero visits an ungodly number of museum & gallery
shows each week in conjunction with his other great joy, artist studio visits (in-person
and virtual). He is currently teaching as an adjunct professor at Brooklyn College in the
Department of Art.
