Rooted in Pride!
A PUBLIC OUTDOOR ART EXHIBITION CELEBRATING BROOKLYN’S LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY
In honor of Pride month, Arts Gowanus once again partnered with Brooklyn Pride and The Old Stone House & Washington Park to present an outdoor art exhibition called Rooted in Pride.
The exhibit featured artwork – selected from an open call – by emerging and established Brooklyn-based LGBTQIA+ artists working in various styles and media. The works depicted and celebrated what “pride” means to the artist and/or Brooklyn’s LGBTQIA+ community.
All works were printed on 36”x 36” vinyl banners and include a brief description of the piece. The banners are displayed on the fence surrounding The Old Stone House & Washington Park and J.J. Byrne Playground in Park Slope from June 1 – August 1, 2025.
